The Hornet’s Appearance
The 2023 Dodge Hornet makes an astounding first impression with its Dodge muscle car-inspired hood and front fascia. A “mail-slot”-style front grille opening accents the narrow-focused headlamps, creating a serious and determined front-end appearance that brings the Dodge attitude to life. Hornet has a style of its own with muscular body lines and the performance-inspired back end that features dual exhaust ports and a taillight assembly that extends the entire vehicle width, with a lighted red signature Dodge Rhombi logo in the center. Featuring a driver-focused cockpit familiar to all Dodge vehicles, this model includes center-stacked controls and display screens angled toward the driver. Red stitching accents flow throughout the black interior, including on the mid-bolster, seats, and armrest. Class-exclusive Alcantara seats with an embroidered Dodge Rhombi logo are included on the Track Pack option, while leather seating is standard on GT plus and R/T plus packages.
Hornet’s Power and Performance
The new 2023 Dodge Hornet delivers Best-In-Class performance for both of its powertrain options. The Hornet GT model is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine capable of 265-horses and is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is the standard option, with all-wheel drive available. This powertrain gives you a 0-6o mph time of about 6.5 seconds. The Hornet R/T introduces Dodge’s first plug-in hybrid powertrain, a 1.3-liter turbo four-cylinder with an electric motor capable of 284 horsepower. The R/T model comes with a six-speed automatic transmission with a power shot that boosts engine output by 25 hp when you pull both paddle shifters. The PHEV model comes with a 15.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that is good for 30 miles of all-electric driving, and level 2 charging takes about two and a half hours.
Smart Tech and Infotainment
With some of the best tech and infotainment of any Dodge vehicle, the 2023 Dodge Hornet offers a 12.3-inch reconfigurable digital instrument cluster that allows three separate zones for displaying vital driver information and critical performance data. The Dodge Uconnect5 system feature lets the occupants keep connected to their digital lifestyle with a 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. The Hornet includes Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa functionality. Standard Bluetooth allows two phones to be paired at once; the front row has USB ports and an available wireless charger. The Hornet also offers an available 14-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system.
Driver Assist and Safety Features
Delivering an impressive slate of advanced technology, the 2023 Dodge Hornet includes innovative safety features. Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Monitoring are available. Hornet offers three levels of parking assist plus level two autonomous driving with ADAS features available with the additional Tech Pack, including Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, Lateral Control/Lane Support, and Driver Attention Detection.
