The Grand Cherokee comes with a choice of three powertrains, and an eight-speed automatic transmission is standard. The basic Grand Cherokee models are RWD while 4WD and AWD will be offered as well. The Standard entry-level engine is a 3.6-liter V-6 that produces 293 horsepower with 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with RWD but will also be compatible with 4WD systems. A 5.7-liter V-8 will be available as the upgrade engine which makes 357 horsepower with 390 lb-ft of torque, and cylinder deactivation technology helps this engine achieve 14/22 mpg city/highway. Finally, the Grand Cherokee 4xe is the lineup’s first PHEV which features a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four and an electric motor.
The all-new Grand Cherokee lineup boasts the most available safety and security features with over 110 standard features to offer you genuine peace of mind. One of the features offered is Active Driving Assist which uses radar and sensors to make subtle adjustments helping you remain a set distance from the vehicle ahead while keeping you centered in your lane. Cargo space in the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee measures 37.7 cubic feet with the second-row seats upright, and 70.8 cubic feet with the second row folded down. The Grand Cherokee models with a V-6 engine are rated to tow up to 6,200 pounds while the V-8 increases towing capacity up to 7,200 pounds. Even the 4xe PHEV models are able to tow up to 6,000 pounds.
